Full Bore Rifle Shooting was first on the Commonwealth Games program in 1966. Shooting was not on the program for the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, or in 2026.

2018 Competition

  • Two gold medals were on offer, in open events (open to both males and females) for singles and pairs.
  • In the Full Bore Rifle competition there were no qualifying rounds. The firing distances was between 300 and 1,000 yards and competitors shot once per stage.

  • Northern Irish Full Bore Rifle shooter David Calvert appeared a record 11 Commonwealth Games (1978-2018), the record of the most appearances at the Games for any sport.
