Early Olympic archery competitions had unique events, with some very unusual names like Team fixed large and small bird, or even moving bird.

How about Sur la Perche à la Pyramide, which translates as Perch on the Pyramid. I couldn't work out what Sur la Perche à la Herse translates as (apprently the sport is called popinjay archery in England).

Pole archery, which consisted of shooting artificial birds that were placed on cross beams suspended from a large pole, was an event at the 1900 and 1920 games.
