Italy's men's national football team has qualified for the UEFA European Championship (the Euros) 11 times (including 2024) - 1968, 1980, 1988, and all tournaments since 1996. Their best performance is winning in 1968 and 2020. They were also runner-up in 2000 and 2012

  • 1968: Champion - Italy won their first European Championship, defeating Yugoslavia in the final.
  • 1980: Fourth place.
  • 1988: Semi-finals - Lost to the Soviet Union.
  • 1996: Group stage.
  • 2000: Runner-up - Lost to France in the final.
  • 2004: Group stage.
  • 2008: Quarter-finals.
  • 2012: Runner-up - Lost to Spain in the final.
  • 2016: Quarter-finals.
  • 2020: Champion - Italy won their second European Championship, defeating England in the final through a penalty shootout.
  • 2024: Italy again qualified for Euro 2024, where they are defending champions. However, Italy were eliminated in the round of 16 by Switzerland.
