As yet we have not come across a database of all the athletes from the 2018 Sochi Winter Olympics, so we cannot compare the anthropometric measurements of athletes from a range of elite winter sports like we did for Sochi 2014. We only have limited data at the moment, mostly for the USA team only.

Tallest Winter Olympic Athlete

The tallest athlete at the Games may well have been the Swiss slalom skier Ramon Zenhaeusern who was 2.00 m (6 ft 7 in).

Height

Out of the limited data available, we have found that the tallest average height for men at Olympics belonged to the ice hockey players at 6'1". For the women, the tallest average athletes competed in bobsled racing, at 5'8". The height of the tallest athlete at the 2018 PyeongChang games was downhill skier Bryce Bennett, a 6'7".

Age

The US team had an average age of 26.4 years.

  • Youngest: male figure skater Vincent Zhou at 17 years old is the youngest U.S. athlete to compete in Pyeongchang.
  • Oldest: 39-year-old hockey player Brian Gionta.
