Between them, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo won 13 of the 15 Ballon d'Ors between 2008 and 2023. The most consecutive wins is four, by Messi between 2009 and 2012. Rodri won the award in 2024, after his superb performances for Spain and Manchester City in the 2023/24 season.
