Recruits for Kentucky Law Enforcement are required to undergo a fitness assessment as part of the recruitment process. Below is some information about the fitness test requirements and standards. Assessment Tests

The current test battery was developed by Drs Bryant Stamford and Robert Moffatt in 2009. The test consists of five components, conducted in the following order over a three hour period.

  • Bench Press (% of body weight – conversion)
  • Sit-up test (no. of repetitions, 1 minute time limit)
  • 300 Meter Run (seconds)
  • Push-up test (no. of repetitions, 2 minute time limit)
  • 1.5 Mile Run (min:sec)

The table below shows the physical performance points distribution for each of the tests. Candidates must achieve an overall minimum of 50 points in total to pass.
